Learning PHP
PHP is a programming language that embeds into a web page, allowing the programmer to write applications that provide something much more than plain information via web pages - it allows him or her to provide true interaction via a web site. You can see this type of code obviously in use in online ordering systems, forums, and the like - but it's also less obviously in use even on pages like this where blog entries and PHP training course dates are automatically updated.
At Well House Consultants, we provide a variety of courses in PHP. If you've never programmed before, or if you are completly new to writing web pages or SQL, you'll probably want to start with our Technology for PHP day. But if you're an experienced programmer, but need to learn PHP and it's a new language to you, the our PHP Programming course is probably the place to start. Graham Ellis, the main tutor at Well House Consultants, runs all the PHP courses, presenting from material he writes and maintains himself. Graham has been training for many years, and uses PHP himself in a wide variety of applications, ranging from a few lines of code to keep hotel staff up to date with room status through the petition / pledge page for the local railway campaign up to a complete content management system in the form of a Wiki (Sample page - Seend Iron Works). PHP is not Graham's only language - and that's important because it means he can contrast and compare - if you're already familiar with Basic or C or Perl ... yes, so is Graham, and he can help you learn PHP much more effectively by showing you the strengths and weaknesses of PHP, and how it differs from those other ways of coding.
